Ombre Memorial Day Flower Pot

There’s never a wrong time to show our support and thanks to our troops and veterans. I wanted to make something that not only showed that appreciation but also added some awesome front porch flair to kick off the beginning of summer!

What I used…

• (left over) Adhesive Vinyl from HappyCrafters
Silhouette Cameo Vinyl Cutter
• Multi-Surface Paint
• Sponge Brushes
• Ceramic Flower Pot
• Potting Soil and Red/White Gerbera Daisies (to complete the project)

I used a Military font I found on dafont.com – Army Rust and converted it to a DXF file for my Silhouette Software.

Using left over adhesive vinyl from a few projects back, I cut a stencil with my Silhouette Cameo and stuck one phrase on one side, and the other phrase on the other side of my flower pot.

Once these were stuck really well onto my pot, I used my paint and sponge brushes and dabbed lightly across the letters. I tried to use paint colors that would slightly fade into each other so that I created a smooth ombre look.

Once I finished with one side, I spun my pot around to do the same effect on the other side.

Let it sit outside for about 20-30 minutes to dry and pulled off my adhesive vinyl stencil. To finish, I added in my potting soil and Gerbera daisies to complete the look.
